Thanks for the insights. I knew that today, what we use as money is a far cry from what money once was but not that it has morphed so thoroughly from any links to production of goods and services. And yes, I do think it is immoral to grant purchasing power to individuals that have produced nothing. To me that is my definition of thievery.

I do know that as long as we continue to put out the human efforts to produce those elemental goods and services the economy will limp along. But the malinvestment can only be as unlimited as the modern money supply.

The ice we skate on is truly fictitious and unpleasantly thin. That said, if there were some degree of honesty as to who get purchasing tokens, the wonderful system of electronic ownership transfers that we currently enjoy might well be sustainable. I’m not convinced that this is possible when I see where wealth accrues today.
